Grottoes, cormorants, catfish, turtles and the lights of Tiberias

After an endless stream of historical information (and what to do, such a country!), A change of impressions was simply necessary for us. Which is what happened. Just 20 km from Acre, on the border with Lebanon, there are absolutely stunning beauty of Rosh Hanikra grottoes. These are caves created by the sea for millions of years. The world of azure water, rocks and stones. Down tourists descend by funicular.

And then – a walk-contemplation along the path laid in the rocks along the coast. Look at these photos. Do not believe that this could be in the Holy Land? And yet, this is also Israel.

On the way to our next refuge, the city of Tiberias, we visited the Hula Nature Reserve, which is located about 60 km from Acre north to the center of the country. Hula is a private nature reserve, opened in 1964. In 1994, it was reconstructed and improved. A floating bridge passes through its entire territory and special towers are equipped for observing birds and animals.

On neatly laid picturesque alleys you can relax, admire nature and just forget for a while the chaotic movement of modern life.

I think it’s not often the case to visit the reserve, where there are more birds, animals and inhabitants of the pond than visitors. Moreover, all these God’s creatures are not at all afraid of people. Nutria is in a hurry. Turtles surrender to a feeling of mutual love.

Cormorants settle for the night.

In the distance is a family of buffalos.

Overwhelmed with emotions, we reached the capital of lower Galilee, the city of Tiberias. He met us with evening lights, fragrant air and spa relaxation. He was even somewhat surprised: where did these excited people come from? Well, take a seat already, as he would tell us, calm down, look at the night lake and eat, in the end, something. The Desks restaurant, where we were invited, turned out to be a wonderful establishment with a view of the Sea of Galilee. We tried the grill: lamb, beef, chicken, duck, duck and chicken liver, vegetables, as well as salads and side dishes. All this was washed down with fine local wine. After such a plentiful and tasty dinner, it was completely impossible to move, all that was left was to admire the lights on the lake and watch the wedding fun that happened just that evening in the restaurant.

The north of the country is wooded mountains, clean air and beautiful lake beaches. Tiberias is the cutest resort town in the greenery, where you can spend a good vacation. There are decent hotels, and a promenade on the promenade along Lake Kinneret, and equipped beaches, and decent shops, not to mention the many restaurants with a wide variety of cuisine. Every evening, vacationers gather on the city promenade to enjoy the light-musical performance of dancing fountains. As a projection plane, jets of water are used, colored with all the colors of the rainbow and beating to a height of several tens of meters. Admission to the show is free.

I would like to tell you about the Scots hotel, where we stayed in Tiberias. This is a boutique hotel consisting of several buildings. The Scottish hotel The Scots 4 * has more than 120 years of history. It was founded in the 19th century by the Scottish church in the hospital building.

In these ancient basalt buildings on the lake, surrounded by a perfectly maintained garden, we were waiting for a refined, even somewhat prim atmosphere, rooms with antique furniture and excellent service. By the way, the hotel restaurant is not kosher, they serve any dishes and generally feed and serve excellently.
